Pertinent Question

Tonight I sat in a meeting for almost two hours as the leaders at the congregation where I attend discussed how to meet the needs of a diverse congregation. It is not easy being a leader, especially when people are passionately at odds about different issues.

As I listened to the discussion, this question popped into my mind: "how can we be Jesus to this generation?"

As we wrestle with issues concerning worship and methods, this question holds the key to our decisions.

I have long thought that if we do not ask the right questions, we will not arrive at the right answers.

Ask wisely.

Answer thoughtfully.

Act accordingly.
