Valentine's Hope

The powers that oversee the Hallmark company are once again rejoicing at another profitable Valentine's Day. Women pore over card after card attempting to select the "perfect" one for their spouse or boyfriend.

On the other hand, men are rushing to stores as we speak looking for whatever cards are still left.

Flowers have been ordered. Some have already been delivered. Dinner plans are made.

Ah, the joys of Valentine's Day. At least there is no commercialism.

I admit it. I did the flowers and card thing. Most smart men do the same thing.

If you are like me, then you realize your wife is a blessing from God. There are times when I know my wife would like to wring my neck. There are times when I frustrate her, disappoint her, and even antagonize her. But she still puts up with me and loves me just the same.

One of my wife's favorite songs is one by Avril Lavigne entitled, "Keep Holding On." So on this Valentine's Day, I dedicate these lyrics to my wife.
