Family Decisions

There are times when you must make decisions that may not make much sense to others.

There are times when you have to consciously prioritize your family's needs in a way that others might see as foolish.

There are times when you step away from inner circles, even though you will experience much pain in the short term. You do it because, in the long run, it will make a world of difference.

There are choices you will make that others will not agree with and may even cause them to think negatively of you.

There are times when you will find yourself standing alone. However, standing alone does not mean you have made a wrong decision. Many people who made good decisions often found themselves standing alone.

No one else will love your spouse and children the way you do. Others will not sacrifice for them or inconvenience their lives for your family.

We tend to stay set in our ways.

That is what separates family from friends.

That is why family is so important.

In the movie Wyatt Earp, Wyatt's father tells him, "Nothing matters more than blood."

As I tell my children, people come and go, but you will always have your family.

Make decisions that put your family's needs first, despite the reaction of others.

This is an immense struggle.

But, as a good friend likes to tell me, "it is a good fight."
