In Between Us

"In between us, good and evil wait ..." The words are sung by Ed Roland, lead singer of the band Collective Soul. I don't know if he had any biblical teachings in mind when he wrote those lyrics, but it is interesting to ponder why the son of a Baptist minister would make such a reference to the good and evil that we face within ourselves.

This week, you will face both good and evil within yourself. This week the voices will speak to you. This week your choices will be based on either the good or the evil that exists within you.

Which one will take control? It depends on which one you feed.

Walk wisely this week. Seize the moments granted to you. Follow your heart. Run down a dream (thanks Tom Petty). And dance in the brightness that comes from the throne of your Creator.

In between us, good and evil wait
To lie beside us in our bed we make
In between us, caution never heeds
We prey on weakness, then beg for sympathy

In between words, silence parades so conclusion is heard
Our voices afraid to speak up and reassure
So in between words we remain

In between us, hope we've yet to see
We long for healings, but the scars never leave ...

You do not have to live in a state of "in between" this week. Live outside the lines. Live by grace ... God's grace ... and see the hope He offers to you.
